Pia Promina is not just a Pakao, she is living history of India's food industry for half a century!
She started her affair with food at a tender young age in the 1950s, and it continues unabated till date. From the food of her traditional Calcutta roots to the shores of European countries, she has mastered Bengali, Anglo Indian, French, Continental, Intalian, Portugese and many other world cuisines.
She entertains private dining requests, holds spontaneous pop-ups, and accommodates special requests for little known dishes (at her discretion). Always open to novel ideas regarding home cooked food, she is a true doyen of the delicious art of lovingly and painstakingly prepared, slow, time consuming, authentic, traditional cooking...food for her is not chore, not a job, but a way of life!

Testimonials
This is what is being said about Pia Promina's home cooked yummies.
Kalyan Karmakar
The eclairs that Pia Promina DasGupta Barve bakes are special and in our house they get a guard of honour and are a favourite of the missus. Anyone here who grew up thinking that eclairs are tiny and much coveted toffees with a soft centre - order some and bust that myth!!
The duck fezanjan, an Iranian chicken chicken dish that she cooked and sent with the pulao surely deserves an Oscar this year. We devoured it!!! The meat was beautifully cooked and I loved the fruity, nutty, saffrony flavour. Along with the smoked salmon, and the pork pie, this would feature in my top 3 wondrous dishes that she has cooked for me.
